Election 2012

douche v. turd
It's election day here in the USA. I'm not impressed with either of the two candidates running for President. Romney is a corporate shill and Obama is hardly the agent of "change" he promised to be in 2008. Back then, anyone who wasn't George W. Bush would have done fine. Not so much these days. Obama is basically Bush Jr. in some regards also. Total bummer.

That's the problem with the American two party system. Democrats or Republicans, both groups are beholden to the corporate interests that REALLY run this country. I may share more ideological views with Democrats, but they're a bunch of passive aggressive pussies who will never get any real socioeconomic change done. Vote Republican? Are you fucking nuts? Really.

Too bad we don't live in a world where Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate for President, stands a chance of winning. I spent some time on Jill's website this past week looking over her stance on the issues and thought: THIS is the change we need in America. Check it out HERE.She won't win though. She doesn't stand a chance actually. Bummer. Major bummer. The American political system is broken. I'm tired of choosing between the lesser of two evils, between a douche and fucking turd. Choices like that, leave us with really no choice at all.

We need more choices on election day. REAL choices. Until that day comes, the sadly prophetic words of the late George Carlin with remain true:

Musical Geniuses

The Dream Team
I've already ranted about how much I love South Park, especially when Eric Cartman uses his angelic voice and bursts into song. Today I'm going to pay tribute the men behind America's favorite crude 4th graders, Trey Parker and Matt Stone.

Perhaps the only thing I love more than their hilarious jokes, brazen satire and utter disdain for organized religion are their ridiculous musical talents. Aside from crafting awesome little jingles throughout South Park's 15 season run, the two have been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Song and recently swept this year's Tony Awards with their new musical The Book of Mormon. Critical praise/accolades are nice and all, but I've got to say my favorite Parker/Stone musical project is their over the top rock band, DVDA (Double Vaginal, Double Anal).

Here are 3 of my favorite DVDA tracks that I'm sure many of you are already familiar with:
Here's the theme song to their 1997 cult classic film Orgazmo.

Next we have Osama Bin Laden's favorite song of all time, the theme from 2004's Team America: World Police.

Finally, a song that still brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it, from South Park's 8th season, I leave you with:

Trey Parker singing about his balls in Japanese = COMEDIC GOLD!

Cartman, voice of an angel....

There are only a few constant, unfaltering things in my life. Taxes, allergies...and my undying love of Eric Cartman's singing voice. Yes, when South Park's resident big boned trouble maker starts singing, all (if only temporarily) is right with the world. If you don't know who Eric Cartman is, or what South Park is for that matter, be ashamed. When The Simpsons derailed in the late 90's, Matt Stone and Trey Parker's South Park took the reins as the greatest animated show on television. While the last few seasons have been kind of "meh," South Park has enjoyed a solid decade of awesomeness throughout the 00's. There's nothing quite like watching a bunch of mischievous ten year old's destroy every sacred cow mankind has to offer. There's also nothing like hearing Cartman burst out into song.

Here's a brief clip from a more recent episode where Cartman, dressed as his superhero alter ego...The Coon (yes, really), for no reason at all, randomly walks around singing a certain 80's pop hit.

Here's Cartman & his short lived Christian rock band sharing their LITERAL love of Jesus with the masses:

and finally, here's the song that forever changed how I look at the State of the Union address and other large political gatherings. Cartman's delivery here *tear* makes everything all better for this disillusioned ol' blogger! ENJOY FOLKS!
